What is Chemsex?
Chemsex refers to the use of specific drugs to intensify sexual experiences, often during parties or social gatherings. While it can provide short-term gratification, chemsex carries significant risks, including addiction, unsafe sexual practices, and negative health impacts. Raising awareness about chemsex is vital to promoting healthier choices and fostering well-being within our community.
Why a Support Group Focused on Chemsex?
At Aconchego House, we believe in the power of community care. Our Chemsex Support Group is an essential space for individuals to navigate the complexities of substance use and sexual health with care and understanding. Facilitated by a peer volunteer, this group provides a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental environment to share experiences, exchange information on harm reduction, and build mutual support networks. The group empowers participants to make healthier choices, enhance mental health, and promote emotional resilience in a supportive community.
